Blue ice is a type of ice formation that happens when very particular winter conditions occur. This phenomenon is becoming more rare due to climate change. Prints are Ziatypes or Silverprints.

For the Reverse Alchemy project, I construct stories that question themes in contemporary human experience by layering digital and analog photographic media, spaces, perspectives, objects, and moments of time and history. My son plays a recurring young character and “witness” to the events in each imagined scene, tapping into my own anxiety about all our children's futures.
The reverse aspect in the title alludes, albeit ironically, to what the work is ultimately about: the ways in which contemporary society/culture can sometimes transform the precious into the base – with devastating consequences – and the struggle to reveal and resist that degradation.
