I love the story films can tell. I have a movie that plays in my mind whenever I shoot my noir-inspired images. As I work, I consider the story, the characters, and the content of each shot. In my mind, each photograph is a still of a movie that hasn't been made. I like to construct actual sets with relevant props from the time frame I aim to capture, the 1940s and 1950s. The female character in my stills is often vulnerable but not defenseless, she is a woman of her time but also very strong and capable. For this series, we are following a couple at a crossroads of lies and murder. The male character has committed murder and our female character knows he did it but is afraid of what will happen if he finds out she knows. They are walking a tightrope between truth and secrets.
