A portrait of homes that speak. A project documenting the 300-500 year old homes in Goa, India built during the colonial Portuguese era (1510-1961). The project is an exploration of cultural heritage, identity and belonging, colonial history, architecture and anthropology. Due to socio-economic factors and migration of the younger generation out of Goa, many of these heritage homes that belonged to a family for generations are now being sold and repurposed for commercial use. This project documents the remaining ancestral homes and families as memory keepers; a tribute to the tangible evidence of a bygone era.
