Hit the Lights

Hit the Lights is a rocknroll photography project that captures the intensity of the underground music scene in NYC. A document and a testimony from the epicenter of the punk movement. The place where, what makes NYC so unique is born, the originality, the excitement, the gritty, underproduced, vibrant and yet obscure scene that still carries the torche of those who invented punk in the 70’s, the inheritors of CBGB. Hit the Lights invites anyone willing into a world not many have had the chance to experience, from the ticket line all the way to the front row. The main body of work has been produced during an 8 month period, includes interviews, hundres of shows, dozens of venues, some of which dont even exist anymore such as the Blackthorn 51 in Brooklyn or the Revolution in Amitivylle, places where many unsigned bands like Stabbed or veterans EYEHATEGOD make their transitory homes. Hit the Lights dives into the lives of all these misfits, from The Kingsland in Queens to the Berlyn Under A in the Lower East, this is not a mainstream put on, this is the real deal.
