Picturesque

The first time I saw Dresden was in an 18th century painting. For a region whose restoration and reconstruction was based on paintings like that, where do I actually find its image? In the streets or in the paintings? When photographing Dresden and Pirna in details of paintings by Bellotto (Canaletto), I pay attention to the life and death drive of their image.
