Over the last 8 years, I've dedicated my life continuously on the road to photographing Major Cities around the world. 115 major cities across 80 countries, alone on foot 8+ hours a day, looking for the common themes and connections of life found everywhere, along with the unique character that makes us all different. With a focus on photographing each city fully unposed, I've fully immersed myself to bring intimacy to the candidness, walking over 50,000 kilometers in the process.
From this work, "Populace" has formed, a candid project connecting these major cities around the world by the amount of energy, unique interest and life each city contains, up close and personal. Large cities are known for their imposing infrastructure and modernized monotony, but I've focused down on the ground with the people to bring out the genuine, distinctive life from each city. Getting inside with unposed images of natural life, I've covered Major Cities across more regions, cultures and countries than ever before. "Populace" brings this all together, showing how we all live in the city, each different, but connected at the same time.
What is a city, but the people; true the people are the city.
- William Shakespeare (Coriolanus. Act III. Scene I.)
