DIVERSITY has so far not been a well-defined concept.
But that much is clear that it concerns all conceivable differences between people.
Within DIVERSITY as a concept, conceivable differences are distinguished, which are named and subdivided into subgroups.
Since time immemorial, a very important difference between people has been their living and living environment, as well as their differences in level of education, prosperity and income.
I have tried to illustrate these major differences by means of my modest photo series. The series gives a picture of a large Social Inequality on the above points.
It is a good idea to strive for greater DIVERSITY within consultative bodies and levels of government. But given the many kinds of differences between people, there is a danger that not every kind of difference is seen as equally important.
In my opinion, this is the case with Social Inequality in the areas of income, education, prosperity, welfare and living environment.
These factors now play no major role in the DIVERSITY discourse, due to the focus of community organizations and government services on sexual and cultural and/or ethnic differences within DIVERSITY.
