After her

'After her' is my photo project which I did in memory of my grandmother who raised me. My family and I moved to her apartment after she passed away. We started doing some renovations in rooms one by one, but I found it difficult to throw away each single object or piece of furniture that reminded me of her. I decided to catalogue those things by taking photographs of them. That time my main goal was to keep the memory of my grandmother's life. But now this photo project means way more for me. My family and I moved from Russia to the UAE a year ago. I had to leave all those things as they were in our apartment. Luckily, I was able to keep memories of them and of my past with those photographs I made before. I write a story that will accompany each photograph and want to make a photobook as a final result. When I continue working on my project and telling other people about it I feel strong connection between me and my past, and my country.
