Hotchkiss explores themes of isolation, myth making, and coming into adulthood while living on the outskirts of a small town. Constructing a place as much fictional as it is actual, Hotchkiss uses metaphors of transition, nature, and animals to create a place that is simultaneously comforting and destabilizing.
