As a journalist and novice photographer, I'm enamored with the ability for the camera to capture moments that memory often lets loose. These photos capture the human resistance to the Covid-19 pandemic and systemic abuse of marginalized communities. Like so many thousands of others, I left a major metropolitan city to continue life in a rural corner of America. These photos, while geographically different, showcase the same photojournalistic eye for detail and human impact we make on each other, good, bad or indifferent.
