Vive Matisse!

My photography project Vive Matisse! draws inspiration from the vibrant and expressive works of Henri Matisse, while embracing a contemporary reinterpretation through the lens of the female gaze. By casting models of diverse body types and races, I aim to challenge conventional beauty standards and bring forth the strength and uniqueness found within each individual. Matisse's artworks have long been celebrated for their dynamic use of color, form, and composition. With a deep appreciation for his mastery, I have embarked on a journey to recreate his iconic pieces, breathing new life into them through meticulously handcrafted set designs. The attention to detail in my process ensures that each photograph is a carefully constructed visual narrative, engaging the viewer in a dialogue that transcends traditional notions of beauty and representation.
