“sex tape” intricately examines the corporeal aspect of human existence by accentuating the physicality inherent in photography and photographs. Much like the physical act of sex, photography, and by extension, a photograph, is fundamentally material. Much like a sex tape serves as a representation of physical intimacy, a photograph similarly represents human material experiences. Just as we cannot partake in the intimate moments portrayed in a sex tape, nor can we physically touch the individuals depicted, similarly, the experiences depicted in a photograph remain beyond our physical reach. “sex tape” serves as both a contemplation on the corporeal nature of human existence and a reflection on the representational quality intrinsic to photography and photographs."
“sex tape” is complemented by a video art piece with the same title. The credit for the video art goes to Beamin’ Suns, a group of multimedia artists including Wessam Minavi, Danylo Illinskyi, and Rana Minavi. The video art is available on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/899226295?share=copy
