Kishin Himori creates artworks on the themes of “the consciousness of existence or non-existence” and “the shape of lives”. He is striving to look beyond the surface by making visuals that may not have a visual component. In this series, He makes a conscious effort to capture the “connection with things”. Artworks are derived from his experience of seeing a cloud shaped like a Japanese dragon that appeared after launching a rocket on the island(Tanegashima). Legend has it that a Japanese dragon is a creature connecting with two things never converge－the heavens and the earth, this life and afterlife. He expresses such a sense by photographing as if the light lines appear. Each situation seems like life itself, and the light lines seem to express the connection among these invisible things－places, things, and existence.
