Cat People is a self-portrait series that explores identity through the juxtaposition between subject and environment in constructed tableaux. Shots are created in the dark, using long exposures and light painting to highlight specific elements of the scene. The series revisits my earliest personal practices with photography, where as a chid, I would build aesthetically pleasing groups of toys, books and other objects, and then document them with my analog camera. Cat People exposes the mysterious in the mundane, and explores how our environments are a mirror of some element of our identities.
