Young people today live in a world with many social problems and global issues that need to be solved for the future. Anyone who assumes that they are not interested in these issues is wrong. In her work "Porteurs d`espoir", photographer Julia Fenske focuses on growing up, socialization in today's world and a generation's hope for change. Against the backdrop of the historic town of Beaugency, artist Julia Fenske took portraits of young people aged 14-18 in their favorite places. The result is individual, two-person and group portraits of young people that tell of the special moment of transition between childhood and adulthood. Not only does the photographer show their fashion as a means of expressing individuality and identification in her portraits, but also their positivity and strength are attributes that the viewer can recognize in every face.the protagonists shine in a special light in Julia Fenske's photographs, which are intended to emphasize their strength and heroism in a rather uncertain and also gloomy world.
This work is the result of the artist residency awarded in October 2022 and May 2023 in Beaugency, France.
