This series portrays the various tribes present in Arunachal Pradesh with their traditional clothing. Arunachal Pradesh is a remote region there is the highest concentration of ethnic group in India. This area is probably one of the last outposts where communities live a primitive existence, leading a rural life, depending on the products of the earth and on forest resources, maintaining a harmonious relationship with nature. Most of these tribes, although derived from common ancestors, differ in language, clothing and traditions following its own social, cultural and religious practices.
The origins of these tribes are still unknown, it is thought that they came from the neighbouring states of Burma, Tibet and Bhutan.
During these migrations the various tribes struggled for supremacy and the conquest of the best lands, causing the dispersion of the various groups throughout the region.
The traditions of these tribes have been handed down orally from generation to generation and over the years are slowly disappearing. Even if the roots of these tribes remain firm, globalisation is the main problem to pass on customs and traditions to new generations.
