Have you ever thought how it felt to eat solid food for the very first time?
A vortex of sensations linked to the texture, the smell, the taste, the sight of the food itself, but also the incredible feeling of entering society for the first time after having seen your parents interacting at the table and moving spoons and forks to their mouths for months.
I saw the eagerness in my son's eyes for quite some time and I knew he was ready to give it a go. This series is an humble portrait of that morning in which Noa ate solid food for the first time, the moment he joined the family for this important daily date.
I gave much attention to his hands, because hands are our tool to discover and in this moment of his life, at six months, he has finally learnt how to control them and he is making use of them to get to know the world. The series is in black and white because I would like to hold this day as an intimate, lasting memory.
