An ongoing project. The work is an exploration of the possibilities of resistance at the edge of the city of Barcelona, more specifically in the neighbourhood of Carmel, as if it was a body: scars, barricades, wounds, ditches, bunkers, hiding places, gaps, spaces for oxygenation. This territory is a place where collective memory emerges in graffiti and tattoos on bodies and walls, in this sense is not far from its past of anarchist uprisings which has freed the city on different occasions from the fascist yoke during civil war and in more recent times asking to shutting up “Callar”, censorship, the answer “(No) Callarem” social movement. Barcelona is an example of resistance and openness in past and present, on spaces and communities. If activism were a city it would be Barcelona.
