Mamá

Mamá (Mom) is an ongoing project together with my mother. I began picturing my mother by the time of my personal emancipation. To take pictures of her was a sort of a new dialog scenario free of the mother-son hierarchy. Seeing my mother without her authority but still with my affection has been very helpful to understand her. To fell her ups and downs and its consequences on her daily life brings me worry and sadness. One of the key features of the project, as important as the pictures, is to help my mother to be conscious of her situation and facilitate her a peaceful and fluid relation with her environment, as much as is possible, . Without this work the whole photographic project would become pointless. This project is supported by the Social "la Caixa" Foundation under the 20th edition of FotoPres "la Caixa".
