he-she blue-green is a collaboration of complements - water and earth, painting and photography, he and she. The series blends a large format abstract painting with photographs. Both originals, his painting of a swarm of fish and her forest photos, use abstraction to emphasize the essence of their subjects. Through the fusion of the two our perception changes. The sea transforms into rain splinters, the blue of the sky into the tops of trees, the forest seems to be mirrored or seen through glass, and we are not sure whether we are looking at a painting or a photograph. The images created are an ode to impressionistic landscapes of color and light, and to the interconnectedness of life.
