Cotton Candy Cowboy

For the past two years, Cotton Candy Cowboy has examined the social theater and visual mythology unfolding behind the scenes at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas. Returning each October for the fair’s 24-day run, I use the project to trace a charged landscape of spectacle, labor, leisure, and aspiration, where light, color, and human gesture converge in a distinctly Texan vision of the American dream.
