beliefs of passion

Even though I´m not a religious person, there is something about Semana Santa that I love to be part of. I have tried to attend for the past four years with my camera making it a very personal project. It’s a very strange feeling that overcomes me, the silence that surrounds us, while everyone is watching the processions is overwhelming. The faithful crowd is patience and full of expectations. Once the Virgin Mary or Jesus comes out, some of the crowd show their true emotions, even cry of happiness. The feeling is so contagious that I feel the same way and tears fill my eyes without any motive. I tried to capture these emotions around me in a very personal way.
