Iceland Surfaces

what happens when earth and water combine? With this question in mind I went to the north of Iceland this year as part of a Residency Program. What attracted me about the country was its nature and especially its geology. Iceland is composed mainly of igneous rock which is classified on the basis of its chemical and mineral composition. Since Iceland is a young country in geological terms, volcanic rock tends to be dominant. Focusing my work on space surfaces, i tried to capture the basic elements that form Iceland: stone, sand, water and ice.
