Since I was nine, I've been experiencing moving around different places. Since then, I started developing a very unique relationship with any place moulded by influence such as its energy , spiritual communication and facts , in addition, to the inhabitants of the place who become an integral part to the extent that you start wondering who has the greater impact: the place or its people?
Since I moved to Zurich in 2014, I couldn't leave the country for almost two years and a half, during which , I suffered from an unstable relationship with the place, experiencing feelings oscillating between the nadir of negativity to the maximum of euphoric positivist while accompanied by the various hues of feelings in between. Right from the beginning, Zurich keeps challenging me with questions more than giving answers; it makes me bewildered as if I were a drunk person who suddenly wakes up to wonder what am I doing here?
Meanwhile I began to contemplate Zurich and try to adapt to its system, cleanliness and novelty. I decided to take pictures of the city's details that has the most impact on me, hoping to establish my relationship with the city through certain photos that reflect the city's image in my mind.
Although communication between me and Zurich has been cold sometimes, I learned that the best way to bear the unbearable is by facing it and trying to recreate it in a kind of productive or positive way because maybe then we see things that we have not noticed before. Hence, , these photos are just the first step in this occasionally dramatic but ultimately unexpected experience: the discovery of the relationship between me and Zurich.
