Sehnzucht: The Remix

The series 'Sehnzucht' consists of analog Polaroid pictures of my small son and still lifes inside of our home and immediate surroundings. I started making colorcopies of the unique polaroids one day at a local copyshop and started cutting the pictures up, something which freed myself from the medium and the situation I felt myself in. I mixed the cutouts of the pictures with each other and with snippets of photos from various found (German) family albums from the fifties and sixties, to create surreal stills and portraits. Feelings of isolation, longing, timelessness and beauty are all part of my development as a Dutch mother and artist in Berlin.
