Energy of Place; Remimbering Venice

My subject is light. I use macro photography to explore the nature of light, using the camera lens to dissect light-rays into their basic structures. The images are shot moving progressively closer to the subject and have been edited to create the visual sequence of a bar of music, allowing the images to tell us a story about light energy; how it moves and responds to its environment like a carefully composed orchestration. Energy of Place is a long term project I have been working on for several years. Traveling to different locations around the world capturing the energy signatures of different geographies and cultures, I am looking for cause and effect of similarities and variances within the dispersal patterns of light. Venice was one of three European locations I shot in 2016. This series is unique in its ordered patterns and spectrum of color revealed in the different light waves. Reminding me of Venice's annual colorful Carnival celebration.
