There's the popular image of New Orleans; one of endless parties and endless nights that turn into painfully long mornings and painfully long days. For many, this image is a reality. However, those who truly know the city, know that it's very much a place of contrasts and contradictions. It's tough, but it's friendly. There are places you don't want to go and others that welcome and call to you. It's a party, followed by a prayer. We often mix the secular with the spiritual. And the spiritual and the occult can meet and mingle anywhere on the streets. Where two seemingly unrelated worlds not only co-exist but frequently hold each other up, New Orleans occupies that space between the gospel and the blues.
