I wanted to document Cambodian people in the most natural and honest way possible, interacting only if invited. Most of my work was candid and shot using a Fuji XT2.
Cambodia is the furthest I've travelled to experience another life. It's easy to get wrapped up in a techno-world of smart phones and plasma TV's that sometimes you forget there's so much more to life. I didn't really know what to expect when I got to Cambodia, apart from the temples in Siem Reap. However the history of this country captivated me very quickly and as I learnt more about the Khmer Rough and how many lives were lost and how many lives are still affected I couldn't believe how peaceful Cambodia is and how quickly they are repairing this wound. . Exploring the local markets was one of the most wonderful things I've experienced, it was a real sense of their world. The people were so humble and kind, embracing my curiosity with welcome smiles as I explored this fusion of work, life and balance.
