This portrait series is based on found 19th century tintypes of men together, who they were and why they chose to be photographed in the poses as seen is not known. The only information available to decode these images is within the images themselves. In order to create this series I photographed men I knew nothing about apart from the fact they were best friends. Who they are and the details of their relationship with each other is unknown to me. I wanted to see how the historic poses seen in the found images are interpreted when used in a contemporary context with these best friends.
