Process: I pointed my 35 mm SLR through the viewfinder of disposable camera to get these images. From there, I developed them, and scanned the negatives for large file tiffs.
Concept: I've always had an interest in memory and photography's role (and affects) of a memory. You know, those childhood memories that you can't say, with total certainty, if they are true and complete memories of yours. Maybe you remember parts but not all. Or maybe you recall a vague version because a photo jogged it. Or maybe you can't tell if the memory was yours or one you created from looking at an old photo or watching a home video. So the camera-through-another-camera technique manifested to create that additional layer, a layer that mimics the haziness and the diminished quality of childhood memories.
Content: Images in this series were taken at Topsail, NC during a trip to visit my older brother and his family. He was a Marine at the time stationed down at Camp Lejeune NC. Prior to these photos, his son had been diagnosed with autism. The photos include my brother, Vin; his wife, Brandy; and his son, Kingston.
