The little farm called „Saelde“ is located in a valley of a nature conservation area in the North of Germany. It is as far away on the countryside as you can get in dense populated Germany. Saelde means that if someone tries to act always in the right way honor, fortune and salvation inevitably will come to him. The farm is an institution for mentally disabled grown up people. Here the farmers family, the mentally disabled people and the person who look after them live, work and eat together within the anthroposophical philosophy. Everybody works and helps the community on his personal level. On a farm there are very different responsibilities. So for everybody there is something to do according to his personal strengths or interests. This enables people to live as independent as possible and to arrange their life as personal and private as possible. The anthroposophical concept of man tries to acknowledge every personality. Together as a group they are able to manage their life completely independent and self-sufficient. They produce food of the highest ecological standards and are even able to sell these products. Even though the group works and lives together there is a strong hierarchy on the farm. On the top are the inhabitants who still have parents and who go home every weekend. Still having caring parents is envied by those who don't have this privilege. In this case the farmers or the guards spend some special time with them. Going to the superstore is one of the most valued activities for the free time.
