Towards the Light

Every year the religious community of Conservative Laestadians gather somewhere in Finland for their Summer Services, Suviseurat. This time the destination was Räyskälä airfield in Loppi. It means huge planning and building as over 70 000 people live in the airfield for four days. Shops, showers, drinking water, daily meals etc. need to be arranged so that no outside services are needed. The focal point of the area is the big tent for services and people park their campers and trailers around it. One of the most striking aspects in the eye of a casual visitor is the amount of babies, children and teens as this is a family happening. And number of children is big in most families. Juniors move freely in the area meeting each others and having a good time., younger with friends of same gender as older start to mix in groups of boys and girls.
