Equatorial delirium is a metaphor of the human being and the way we survive this world. To develop this metaphor I use Jungian psychology knowledge, alchemy, tarot, dreams and intuitions to light up dark spaces, and I have used photography to portray the symbolic moments of this intense journey.
Equatorial delirium title in Latin. Delirium is a symptom of psychosis, is a detour from the judgement of reality. The project is the detour I'm taking from the reality, Of which is consider "normal". But the delirium isn't mine, is from the place where I inhabit, I imagine elsewhere must be the same: the delirium of the power, the delirium of the justice, the delirium of the frontiers, the delirium of the world. That we are running in the opposite direction of what the human being is, and how we should take advantage of our conscience to find the way of the individualism and get to recognize ourselves as individuals and then as a union, as a Unus Mundus . That's the delirium I portray.
Equatorial means equal to itself. Since we are on the equatorial line, up and down are the same because we are in the middle. I love the geographical space, but beyond that, it's equal to itself because what I photograph is equal to what I have inside.I just can see what it is inside of me. it means that I recognize my own process outside, to the impossibility of looking inside. I seek what unites me, and not divides me.
In this project everything is linked, everything has a reason to be, a reason that is born of unconscious and is revealed in a poetic thruth. If we know how to find them, we will realize that these poetic truths are violent and transformative.
I try to make the invisible, visible and place, like in a mirror, a photo in front of the other to propose several dichotomies. Most of the photos pose a comparison (some of them may appear by themselves because the reflection is not necessary). In this mirror, man is constantly facing the world, the inside and outside, the material and the spiritual, and of course the individual and the collective.
