War's Unwomanly Face

There are some conceptual things and stuffs for everyone, so special, private and personal. 35 years ago a war occurred between Iran and Iraq and some events took place…Men drowned in it that there is no trace of them but remainders left in their mothers’, wives’ and daughters’ hands. Remainders which always sneak in minds and bring their memories back… In these pictures we see women waiting for their husbands, fathers and sons to return. Women still looking for a trace of their men...Men that no one is sure if they are captured, killed or vanished in graves . Or the roaring rivers of the area might have brought them to the Persian gulf. These guys’ remainders are certainly more than a soldier plaque or a monument… This project is not going to bring you back to the past but is going to indicate the past which is not passed for these women waiting for their men missed in action. According to official statistics in Iran and during these 8 years, approximately 12000 men missed in action.
