This series brings together pictures taken during my urban wanderings these last two years. I see these images like small theatrical stages with the city as a setting and a scenography highlighted, as I like, by lines, colors and frank shadows.
The man, the unique actor of these scenes, appears often hurried, lost or vulnerable, fragile silhouette in a scenery a little disturbing or oversized for him.
There is a feeling of incongruity in these scenes; a piece of urbanity from which arises a fragile spark of life.
I notice, in retrospect, that there is, in these seemingly innocuous scenes, the background of my own interrogations on the relation of man to his environment: this decor sometimes sublime or hideous, this dream of stone and concrete, artificial lights ... which man himself has created and which seems today to surpass and isolate him!
