Sicily, the intimate heart of Italy

While traveling through Italy, I try to capture the Mediterranean life (Sicily in this serie) in its most intimate way. Yes, the pictures are taken unobtrusively but respectfully. Some are shot very close and blindly from the hip. Only this way I can capture the most genuine atmosphere. Some pictures are in black and white to create a more nostalgic feeling that I experienced in Italy when I was a kid. Some pictures are often photographically imperfect, but for me it is more important to secure the moment. Most street photography is about nice colors, contrasts and unexpected often coincidental interactions but I think it is a further step to depict the human interaction mutually and within their environment.
