Without light there is no life, take away one of the basic elements and life will cease to exist, as each exists synergistically as part of a greater whole. There is nothing more powerful than the elemental forces of nature. These elements can be suddenly destructive or slowly eroding. Our human invention of power through personal or global politics is nothing more than child's play in comparison to the harm our planet can inflict on us as it goes about restoring balance for its survival. Something we all should all keep in mind as we go about creating our lives.
I am interested in the vibrational nature of our world, where the concepts of theoretical physics and philosophy don't yet reconcile. Using macro photography, I capture light in its varying physical states of vibrating particles and waves. Playing with the properties of optics to dissect light rays into their parts and pieces to reveal the many possible states of light; from prismatic auras to translucent liquids, gaseous particulates, glowing pulses, and electrical flurries that sometimes appear to unite in pictures with recognizable symbols. These images leave me wondering, what are they communicating to us about the nature of our world? I use photography to explore my curiosity about the nature of the universe and the possibilities of the after life existing as a sea of living consciousness.
