2017 HOME SHOW

A JURIED EXHIBITION COMPETITION PhotoAlliance invites entries for a photographic competition juried by distinguished professionals with winning entries exhibiting work at the SFO Museum located at the San Francisco International Airport and online @ photoalliance.org This unique venue provides unparalleled exposure for your work as more than 1.5 MILLION passengers per year pass through SFO. JURORS: Tina Barney, Artist Thea Traff, Associate Photo Editor, The New Yorker Christopher McCall, Director, Pier 24, San Francisco THEME: HOME Home may be where we start or end our day – an actual place or a state of mind. Home might be a feeling carried around as something desired or battled for. Home can include inhabitants, community or any form of like-mindedness. A broad range of interpretations through photography is invited for this entry, including documentary, expressive or experimental. Submissions may be depicted in any style and utilize any process or camera type. Photographers of all ages, nationalities, backgrounds and experience levels are invited to enter. AWARDS & BENEFITS: 14 Winning works will exhibited at the SFO Museum 25 Runner-up works will be featured on the PhotoAlliance.org website and Facebook page garnering international viewing. All winning & runner-up entries will be screened before a public PhotoAlliance lecture event in San Francisco. TIMELINE: DEADLINE: Midnight, November 26, 2017 October 16th, 2017 : Competition opens November 26th, 2017 (Midnight PDT): Deadline for submissions December 12th, 2017: Winners announced January 15th, 2018: Website goes live with online exhibition February & March, 2018: Exhibition production by SFO Museum May 8–August 14, 2018: Home, will be on view during the peak summer travel season in the SFO Museum Gallery B3, Terminal 1 space at the San Francisco International Airport. Works by selected artists will be produced in-house and framed for exhibition by SFO Museum.
