Limites

The artworks created in this body of work, Límites are derived from images shot in 2017 in Medellin, Colombia. The pieces explore the concepts of Colombian land use, ownership, resources and its history through photographic interpretation. While in this seemingly idyllic landscape, cruelty and violence are lurking beneath a smooth appearance. The use of specific places photographed reference the exploitation of people, animals and land which has caused much dispute from the Spanish Conquest to the more contemporary disputes of commercial operations of fruit and vegetable crops as well as the ongoing drug wars and the persecution of indigenous groups.
