Matances

The slaughter of the pig is a tradition deeply rooted in Mallorca. Maybe in these times of politically correct thinking, many people consider it a cruelty against animals. But, from my humble opinion, pigs that die in this way have a death and, why not say it, a life, much better than those used by the meat industries. And also, the killing of the pig is a kind of annual meeting for many families that have been practicing for many years.
