The artistic series Re-Expressing the Cavalhadas makes a genuinely contemporary photographic proposal, inspired by the distortions of the scenes and the images of the characters, and can be characterized as a photograph influenced by surrealism, futurism and the simultaneous technique of cubism, where the body and the face of the figures displays at the same time the profile and the front, in several angles of vision giving an impression of multiple dimensions.
They are dramatic, yet joyful and vibrant, subjective paintings, "expressing" human feelings. The photographic proposal uses colors and unreal forms, giving a plastic form to the cast of the typical folk festival of the city: the Cavalhadas represented by the extras of the award winning "Festa do Divino and Cavalhadas de Pirenópolis - GO".
Through the resources of overlapping different moments in time the series sought to express the way the characters exhibit: their head adornments and lush fantasies.
