I first went to Paris as a high school student. I have been returning annually for decades. In 1989 I started seriously to make photographs in an attempt to explain visually the world in which I live. For a Texas boy from the high plains, not the big cities, Paris has always been an exotic destination---the beautiful, unattainable woman of my dreams. These pictures are part of my pictorial odyssey among her streets, buildings, and people. It has been written that Paris is a festival, a feast, an old city, the place to bury your sorrows, but for me, it is the best place to see the mysteries of the visual world.
