Trivial Stories 2 - Winter Games

Deep, existential themes often require arduous artistic renditions. The work of Zuzana Pustaiova is an exception that proves the rule. Her approach to photography is ironic and humorous, executed with disarming sincerity, and yet so meaningful and thought-provoking. The work TRIVIAL STORIES 2 - WINTER GAMES (2012-2015) serves as a good illustration of this. The artist convinced her grandparents to take a part in an absurd staged performance. In it, theyWW set out for the frosty outdoors to build snowmen, ski on snow-covered slopes, go ice fishing and lick the icles, without having to leave the confines of their bedroom. Branislav Štěpánek
