I am interested in creative storytelling portraiture and the interplay between people and their environments. My work draws on my previous studies in literature, theatre, art history and film to explore the varied but often connected themes of Romanticism, solitude, representations of femininity, feminism, the natural environment and land usage. I photograph both real and imagined relationships between individuals and nature. In my editorial and fashion portraits I use locations, props and styling to conjure scenes that invite the viewer to project a story or character on to the subject. In my longterm and ongoing documentary projects I reflect upon personal memories and psychogeographical connections, spending time getting to know communities who have strong connections to the land, investigating and exploring how they relate to it, both practically and emotionally.
