Submission

The images are from two projects; quarrying in Derbyshire and people who live on an area of the UK called The Wash in Norfolk. Both are concerned with the way that people shape the land and how people are determined by the land that supports them. The quarrying project showed that the land provides materials for building alongside being a major tourist attraction. The Norfolk project is concerned with the effects of sea level rise resulting from climate change on an area that is at or below sea level. It will be one of the first parts of the UK to be flooded. The portraits are supported by recorded interviews to give a voice to the subjects and allow them to tell their own stories.
