Today it's seventy years ago that the Nazi concentrationcamp of Auschwitz was liberated by the Red Army. Last time I visited was in 2013. It's almost impossible to take photo's in a place like this without falling into well known cliché's so at first I decided not to take any photo's at all. But suddenly I found myself in a barrack photographing the view through the windows. And then I went on and took the same photo's again and again through other windows in different barracks. Some stood open because it was a warm day, others were closed. I guess I did this because these views are more or less what the inhabitants saw when they looked through the window to the outside world in the camp. A window without any hope.
