During September 2013 Marcel Pedragosa spent three weeks as an artist in residence at the Halsnøy monastery on an island in Norway. In this period of time he developed a new photographic body of work based on portraying the natural heritage of the island. After the making of the images he did a first selection of twenty to edit and create a new series under the title Broader. Used to photograph people in big metropolis at rush hours, Halsnøy unfolded a complete different environment of work for Marcel Pedragosa’s urban background. Far from, traffic, noise and stress, these photographs reflect a place beyond a state of mind. Nature, harmony and equilibrium are some of the aspects poetically depicted in Marcel’s work produced into the broader Norwegian landscape.
