Sometimes I seem to be observing life going on around me as if I were in front of a giant aquarium. Out of the blue, I recognise its human fauna, its stories, its marvels, its drama, its destiny. Everyone is different, nevertheless, they appears to be part of a complicate, prearranged world of mutual interactions. I have no doubt I am part of this world too.
When you set yourself behind a glass pane through which you can stare at others’ lives, all you look at - people's movements, facial expressions, gestures, ageing, even common behaviours - become the scorching evidence of our limited existence, withered little by little by the slow, relentless passing of time.
With this project I’m trying to convey the feeling of assuming the privileged status of becoming a spectator of others’ existence while absorbing their vitality and extending my own.
