The possibilities of digital art have lead me to places I never imagined; being able to combine and layer photographs of my own sculptures and nature photography enriches the creative process. Further changing color, focus of interest and easy cropping all help zero into the desired impact. The resulting artwork is mostly more complex and with more serendipity than my work in traditional media.
Sensitivities to color and composition, refined in years of painting and teaching, are fully engaged. I think the personal expression is deeper, too, as a natural result of the evolution of the images through many stages.
I admit to often being surprised by what I have done! In the past few years, I have found my ''voice''--via new techniques, a rich background in many mediums, and an openness to new ways of thinking, seeing, and working.
Although these are submitted as individual art works, (I have also submitted a series), they are of one family, I think--what they have in common is what is hard to put into words: a somewhat mysterious visual message.
