In Hungary weight lifting is not a popular sport. If somebody wants to choose a sport for his or her child, it probably won’t be weight lifting. In an outer district (called Soroksár) in the capital of Hungary, located a little union for weight lifting. The trainings take place in a basement of a primary school. The head coach is Endre Szűcs. He was the originator, and he has been working there for 23 years. He has worked without salary, it is his own voluntary public duty. The union operates in modest circumstances. Endre’s students are between 6 and 18. The primary goal is the education for life with the help of the sport. Kids learn how to work for their purpose, how to be successfull, and sometimes how it feels to face a failure. They take part in many competitions and Endre’s educational work helps children, to become healthy and hardworking adults.
